Insight into the Economy of Equatorial Guinea

--

Although coffee and cocoa have always been important to Equatorial Guinea’s economy, the country is mainly dependent on oil after discovering and exploiting large oil deposits in the 1980s. Most of the population still works in agriculture because of the oil industry and its economic effects. Cassava (cassava), sweet potatoes, oil palm fruits, plantains, bananas, coconuts, coffee and cocoa, are some of the crops grown. Cattle, pigs, sheep and goats are all raised. In addition, the economy is stimulated by fishing, and the timber sector is still important.
